Blue Yonder Welcomes 5 New Starters!

Blue Yonder recently welcomed five new starters to our team. The onboarding process, which helps new employees transition into their roles and get up to speed with the company’s processes and culture, was designed to ensure that the new starters were able to hit the ground running and make a positive contribution to the team.
We spoke with the new starters to get their perspective on their experience starting at Blue Yonder. Here’s what they had to say:
Naomi (Graduate Insight Executive)
Since joining Blue Yonder no two days have been the same as I’ve had the opportunity to work on so many different projects with various clients and members of the team. It’s amazing working in this fast-paced environment where there’s so much variety and I love it! The whole onboarding process was made so easy by the lovely supportive team who’ve helped guide me whilst gaining hands-on experience. I’m always learning as there has been so many training opportunities, and I feel extremely supported to learn and develop new skills to really help me develop my career.

I have to say the onboarding experience at Blue Yonder has been the best one I’ve experienced yet. From the welcome pack in the week before, down to the heaps of training & “welcome to BYR” sessions already scheduled to meet colleagues and share knowledge in the first couple of weeks.
The first day was great! Starting with other people meant I never felt alone or had much of that ‘new person in the office’ feeling. Nando’s at lunch was a nice touch and the fact so many people came in to meet us, newbies, really communicated the culture of BY up front!

The onboarding process for a new starter at Blue Yonder has been fantastic!
The friendly, relaxed office culture immediately put me at ease whilst the professional, knowledgeable team members in each department have helped me learn new skills and continue to keep me informed and learning. The most beneficial thing for me personally is the process of giving each new starter a ‘buddy’ in addition to a line manager to direct any questions or challenges to – it’s been massively helpful!
My experience with projects and clients so far has been challenging, exciting and educational – I look forward to working with new clients and colleagues and finding out about all the weird and wonderful projects we have in store.

Hi there! I’m Luke and I’ve been at Blue Yonder now for almost three months! After graduating from Lancaster in July my first step into the working world has been nothing short of amazing: with every day being different and everyone being so nice and helpful. Being given responsibility right from the start has been so refreshing and I’ve really enjoyed getting stuck into interesting projects and learning more about the world of Market Research! The office is such a great place to work and collaborate whilst the ability to work flexibly and freely suits my needs perfectly! With lots of great training sessions and a number of team events occurring too, it’s been so straightforward settling into the position and the company!

After graduating with a degree in Psychology in September, I decided I wanted to seek a career that could apply my knowledge from a psychological background in a completely different environment. Then I fell upon market research, and all my knowledge and learned skills was so easily transferable, and it seemed like a perfect fit for me. Starting here, I was instantly made to feel part of the team. I was comforted by starting at the same time as 4 others, and by the fact that training sessions were open to the entire team so we never felt singled out as ‘newbies’. No two days here have been the same, and I have loved that! Everyone has been so willing to help out and so patient with showing me how to do new things, I’m very grateful for everyone’s help!
