Driving Growth in the Ambient Category Through Shopper Insight

The Challenge:

The client sought to gain a deeper understanding of how shopper attitudes and needs are evolving within the ambient category. Specifically, they wanted to identify growth opportunities and uncover the barriers and issues currently limiting category expansion.

The Solution:

We conducted an online survey with over 1,000 regular ambient shoppers. The survey explored general perceptions of the ambient category, shopping behaviours, key drivers and influences, the impact of Covid-19, and areas of unmet needs. We also examined shopper interest in innovation within the category to inform future development.

The Result:

The research led to the creation of a robust ambient shopper segmentation and a comprehensive insights report. These outputs informed the client’s long-term category strategy and were shared with major grocery retailers to showcase the client’s deep understanding of the category and its future direction. The insights also guided the client’s internal innovation planning and brand development efforts.
