Sustainability has always been a consideration at Blue Yonder Research, but we waited for the right moment to formally solidify our commitment. We have recently become the newest MRS Climate Pledge signee, which marks a natural step forward in this journey, one we approach with careful intention. We wanted to ensure we had the capabilities and resources to genuinely deliver on our promises.
Over the years, we’ve made steady progress. We introduced recycling stations, implemented energy-efficient signage, and reduced office waste by minimising bins. Our regular litter picks in the community are both eye-opening and rewarding, giving us a direct way to contribute to the environment. Driving sustainable practices has been part of our culture for some time.
For four years, our Sustainability Pulse Survey has shed light on sustainability from the consumer’s perspective, and we routinely encourage clients to choose sustainable options in product testing, even if it comes with a modest cost increase.
While these efforts have created a strong foundation, we recognise there is more to accomplish. This year, with substantial growth and key new team members, we’re better positioned to take our initiatives to the next level. We’ve launched an internal sustainability working group, complete with a dedicated lead, to drive continuous improvement and accountability.
Registering with the Ecovadis reporting framework earlier this year was a first step in improving our sustainability practices, and we achieved a ‘Committed’ sustainability rating badge. Now we’re focusing on advancing to the next tier, challenging ourselves and our partners to raise the bar.
Our core value of authenticity is central to everything we do. As a Yorkshire-based company, this commitment runs deep. So, when we signed to uphold the four principles of the MRS Climate Pledge, it’s not merely a statement – it’s a reflection of who we are. With the right team and momentum, we’re prepared to make a meaningful impact. When businesses unite in this way, we can drive real change.
We’re proud to formalise this commitment, knowing our pledge is not just a promise but a genuine call to action for a sustainable future.
